Hobbitat is a design-and-build tiny home company headquartered in Oakland, Maryland (Garrett County), founded in January 2012 by Bill and Sue Thomas after 30 years in historic restoration and custom home construction.
Each hob is built indoors in their Oakland workshop using reclaimed and recycled materials, then delivered and installed on-site in a single day. Hobbitat specializes in the Deep Creek Lake and Garrett County market, offering a turn-key service that includes design, permitting, zoning assistance, and finished construction. Their Hobbitat Home Place rental community in Oakland also showcases completed hobs for prospective buyers.
