Extraordinary Structures is a Santa Fe, New Mexico design-build manufacturer founded in 2015 by licensed contractor Zane Fischer. The flagship product is the SaltBox — a 200 sq ft panelized home engineered for thermal efficiency in partnership with Los Alamos National Laboratory engineers. The SaltBox can be delivered as a DIY kit (starting around $15,000) or built out fully by Extraordinary Structures (starting around $50,000) as of May 2026. The design system won two awards from the New Mexico chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

Extraordinary Structures appeared on HGTV’s Tiny House, Big Living and has been covered by New Mexico Magazine and the Santa Fe New Mexican. The company holds a 5/5 rating on Houzz. Primary service area is greater Santa Fe and northern New Mexico, including Pojoaque, Nambe, Tesuque, and Eldorado at Santa Fe.
